Transforming Labour: 1,500 responses to Compass’ survey so far

By Alex Smith / @alexsmith1982
A week or so back, Gavin Hayes posted on LabourList about the “Transforming Labour” survey are currently conducting, and asked Labour’s supporters and activists to give their views on how Labour can renew after the election – win, lose or draw.
I, too, have written recently about the need for the party to open up to new ideas and people. My view is that Labour needs to find a way to become the political and parliamentary arm to a broader movement of NGOs and campaign groups -such as London Citizens. Anthony Painter, Will Straw, Alexandra Kemp and other LabourList contributors would likely agree.
In its first week, some 1,500 people have responded to the Compass survey – an impressive haul for a relatively detailed set of questions.
I’ve taken the Transforming Labour survey to indicate my thoughts and to help try and start the process of discussion – you can still do so here.
