The Guardian is asking its readers who it should support in its forthcoming editorial line. I suspect, eventually, it will hedge its bets as it has done often in the past by endorsing both Labour and the Liberal Democrats, as the chart below shows:

Guardian

And although the paper has given too much space to David Cameron to op-ed his way through various electioneering articles, it’s very unlikely that the Guardian would endorse the Tories.

Beacuse you can only make the case for Labour by 1pm this afternoon, I don’t have lone to write why I think it should endorse the party, but here are some links to articles written by you over the past year as to why we need another Labour government, and a video of how far we’ve come.

We know what change is: Looking foward and looking back, only Labour has the answers.

Causes to fight for: Devolution — Why only Labour has shown a commitment to real localism.

Labour sees climate change as not just an environmental issue, but one of social and economic justice at home and abroad.

The future of public services is a mutual future — Why only Labour can deliver real mutual solutions.

Why the Lib Dems are not progressive or fair in Islington.

Although the economy is still growing only slowly, Labour’s action has been vindicated by the OECD, amongst others.

And because for a paper like the Guardian, and for Britain’s role in the world, international opinions matter.

The chutzpah of Peter Mandelson – and why we need more trade unionists

Lord Mandelson, or Baron Mandelson of Foy, as he should be referred to since he was packed off to the House of Lords by a small cabal, recently accused the Unite union of ‘manipulating selection procedures’ in the Labour Party. He went on to warn Ed Miliband that this ‘stores up danger for a future Labour government’. Irony has always been in as short supply as sheer chutzpah has been plentiful with old Mandy – but since his faithful disciple [...]
