It’s eve of poll day today, so everything is dominated by what might happen tomorrow. If you haven’t seen it already, Luke Akehurst has already analysed what can be considered a “good” result for Labour. Ahead of the polls, Ed Miliband was on Radio 4 this morning. Apart from being called David by John Humphrys, Ed was forced to explain why he won’t campaign with Nick Clegg on AV. That’s obvious – Nick Clegg is discredited, that’s why our editor thinks that the No campaign have already won. In the Mirror David Miliband has gone into bat for Yes and Caroline Flint has set out her case for No. Tomorrow we will find out for sure…
There will be one final opportunity for Ed to land some blows on David Cameron today at PMQs. It already seems like an eternity since “calm down dear” last week, and Ed will presumably be seeking to get some evening news soundbites that can ring in the ears of voters tomorrow. David Cameron meanwhile will be feeling bullish ahead of the AV referendum, especially as polls show a commanding lead. But would he dare to crow about that with Nick Clegg sat alongside him?
