[An earlier version of this post stated that the site would be at yourbritain.co.uk – the party have contacted us to say that the site (when it launches) will be at yourbritain.org.uk]
The Labour Party will tomorrow be launching an ‘online policy hub’ (with the website yourbritain.org.uk going live), as part of the policy process building towards the next manifesto.
The process as a whole is called “Agenda 2015” and replaces the “Partnership in Power” policy making process that existed previously.
The name of the site is a clear nod at the aims of the site, being open to the public, rather than just party members. All papers produced for Agenda 2015 will be available via the website (including policy documents based on initial submissions). Anyone can make a submission to the site, and party members will be able to vote on the different submissions.
The aim is for genuine openness and transparency in Labour’s policy formulation process. That’s a lofty but difficult aim to achieve – LabourList will certainly be watching closely.
