Before the election Labour’s membership was already at its highest level for 15 years. But since close of polls – and the dreadful results that followed – Labour’s membership has risen by 20,000 to 221,247.
Some will have joined to vote in the leadership contest, whilst others may have joined because they backed the party in the election and want to fight on. Either way, this is Labour’s highest membership since the early Blair years…
