It’s six days until voters go to the polls – here’s a quick look at how the elections are shaping up across the country.

Messages of the day

“For those seeking greater accountability from police forces (especially in light of the Hillsborough inquest), for people worried about the safety of their neighbourhood and rising crime, as well as the 200,000 strong police officer and police staff workforce, these elections matter a great deal” – Dave Prentis, on the PCC elections

“Labour will build a minimum of 60,000 affordable homes over the next five years, 45,000 of which will be council or housing association homes. That’s the figure that industry experts and housing charities tell us we should be aiming for and it will begin to tackle Scotland’s housing crisis – Kezia Dugdale’s pledge on housebuilding

Forecasts

Sadiq Khan has 49 per cent support – a fifteen point lead over Conservative candidate Zac Goldsmith, according to Survation. When including second preferences, Sadiq Khan comes out with 60 per cent support compared to Goldsmith’s 40. By contrast, UKIP are polling at five per cent, and George Galloway is at two.
