Oona King will begin her bid to become London mayor with a week of activity across the capital. King, who was elected MP for Bethnal Green and Bow in 1997 and served as MP there until 2005 when she lost the seat to George Galloway, will be campaigning in Haverstock ward for the council by-election, and launching her campaign officially on Wednesday.
Since her defeat in 2005, Oona King has published a book about her 8 years in Parliament, House Music, and worked as head of diversity at Channel 4.
The election will be in May 2012.
