As Tory cuts begin to bite, Boris Johnson has lost his lead over Ken Livingstone in the race to be the next mayor of London in a YouGov poll. 45% of London voters now say they would vote for Livingstone, compared to 43% for Johnson.
That’s a turnaround since a similar poll in October which put Johnson candidate ahead by 46% to 44.
Johnson is still more popular than his party though – Labour lead in the capital by 16% – although his attempts to distance himself from his party in recent months are likely to become more pronounced as the polls turn against him.
