The Daily Mail suggests that Gordon Brown may be in line to take the top job at the IMF. Current managing director Dominique Strauss-Khan looks likely to run for the French Presidency, meaning that the job may be coming up sooner rather than later. Brown is in the US at the moment, which has merely ramped up speculation.
Former Lib Dem MP Evan Harris is in the Guardian talking about a lifeboat for Andrew Lansley. However if you read the article it sounds more like the publicity-hungry former Oxford MP is throwing the poor health secretary an anchor. Then again, as footage emerges of Cameron attacking exactly the kind of reforms Lansley is proposing, the health secretary may be on his last legs anyway.
And finally there’s an interesting read from Seamus Milne in today’s Gudrain on the risks of “continuity New Labour” to Ed Miliband. Has Ed Miliband moved beyond New Labour – or is it merely waiting for him to slip up? Perhaps only time will tell…
