Earlier this week, I expressed some of my concerns with the Refounding Labour process. Specifically, I said:
“There are a questions Peter Hain needs to answer if he’s to prove that Refounding Labour is a genuine consultation:
– Will we get to see the submissions? If so, when?
– How can we be sure that the final report is representative of the submissions received?”
In light of that, it was heartening that Ed Miliband (during his latest #AskEdM Twitter chat yesterday) backed plans to release submissions. This is a welcome sign that the leadership is comfortable with transparency in this process, and should be welcomed. In response to a question from Sarah Evans, Miliband said:
