September’s winner was Ed Balls, who spent September – as he has every day throughout 2011 – leading the charge against the government’s economic policies. Balls pushed hard for a VAT cut to stimulate the economy, and has helped to shape an economic narrative that puts the prospect of a “Plan B”. That’s something that clearly impressed LabourList readers back in September.
