At a selection meeting this afternoon – the culmination of a quickfire selection process – Feltham and Heston CLP chose their candidate for the upcoming by-election from a shortlist drawn up by an NEC panel earlier this week. The candidate chosen was Seema Malhotra.
Seema Malhotra grew up in Feltham, and went to school in Heston. She is co-founder and Director of the Fabian Womens Network and a former National Chair of the Fabian Society, as well as a former adviser to Harriet Harman during her stint as leader of the opposition last year.
Congratulations to Seema and commiserations to the other shortlisted candidates. We’ll be keeping an eye on the campaign – and bringing you coverage of the by-election, ahead of polling day on December 15th.
