There has been much talk of a “conference bounce” for Labour since the party left Brighton – but rather than looking at the lead Labour enjoys over the Tories (which is variable), looking at Labour’s overall vote share tells a compelling story. Before conference, YouGov’s daily polling had Labour consistently in the mid-thirties. Now, since conference, the same pollster has consistently shown Labour in the high-thirties and low forties.
