Most of the loose ends from the Collins Review – at least in terms for Union support for party reform – were tied off last week when the NEC overwhelmingly endorsed Miliband’s proposals. But there was one union who recalled the decision to their exec – Unite.
Today the Unite exec voted to back the reforms. Sources within the union say that “a good debate was had”, with the end result being the union voting to support the proposals.
That means that all major party affiliates are expected to vote in favour of the reforms on March 1st at Special Conference, and means that it’s now almost certain that the proposals will pass, and with overwhelming support too.
