Last week Ed Balls paid a visit to Washington to launch a report on Inclusive Prosperity with former US Treasure Secretary, Larry Summers.
While he was in the US, however, he wasn’t just meeting with Summers. The Telegraph have reported that Balls also met up with former Labour leader Tony Blair.
That’s of course an interesting choice of coffee catch-up for Balls considering that he was one of Gordon Brown’s allies – and not especially close to Blair. Balls is also closer to Peter Mandelson now than they were when the two men were in government – although after Mandelson’s criticism of the Mansion Tax last night, that relationship might be being tested…
