Labour are launching their manifesto in Manchester today. As we revealed last night this will be a different from the usual manifesto, using the first page to explain their “Budget Responsibility Lock.”
Now we’ve got a look at the front page:
Text heavy and pushing Labour’s election message that Britain can be better, much like the 2005 manifesto this front cover avoids any pictures much like the 2005 manifesto and uses the One Nation colour – which was also used for the women’s campaign bus – against an austere white background. It’s a step back from the 2010 manifesto cover, which featured an illustration where a family of four looked down on a countryside vista as the sun rose in front of them, and is presumably designed to underline Labour’s clear, focussed plan to improve the country, without indulging in any gimmicks.
We’ll bring you more on the manifesto launch later this morning.
