The Chair of Barking Conservative Party has resigned and joined the Labour Party. Foyzur Rahman pointed to the Conservative’s decision to ‘cut the police’ and ‘neglect of the NHS’ in explaining his decision. Rahman was welcomed into the Labour Party by Ken Livingstone, and joins over 14,000 Londoners who have joined the Labour Party since May 2010.
Foyzur Rahman said,
“I’m joining Labour because I believe in more police to make our streets safer and support for the NHS. On both of these issues the Conservatives led by David Cameron and Boris Johnson have failed, cutting the number of police officers and neglecting the health services we all rely on.”
“On the NHS and police cuts Boris Johnson has failed to stand up for London and his policies are those of the past not the future.”
