In an interview with his local paper, Alan Johnson has confirmed that he will stand again at the next general election. Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, Johnson said:
“I will be standing again at the next election. I will put myself up for election and it is up to constituents whether or not they return me as their MP.”
Johnson was also pushed by the paper on whether or not he’d return to the frontbench, but he refused to be drawn, saying:
“I am not going to say never but I am not thinking about that at the moment.”
