Unite is holding its next Call4Action day on February 25th – the day after tomorrow – through its new virtual phonebank at www.unite4labour.org.
The phone bank lets Unite activists who are Labour Party members contact other Unite members directly in their homes or on their mobiles to urge them to vote Labour when the election comes but, equally importantly, makes sure we can contact them now to find out their voting intention.
The phone bank system is highly effective and targeted as it concentrates on Unite members and is designed to be part of mobilising our core vote. Get registered, get calling!
Here’s how it works:
During the Glasgow North East by-election victory Unite spoke with hundreds of our members in the constituency through our new virtual phonebank at www.unite4labour.org.
The evidence from Unite’s by-election operation demonstrates the high success rate of the union turning out the considerable number of Unite members to vote, by Unite members contacting them direct. With large numbers of members in all the Labour key seats, the Glasgow North East by-election success shows the importance of Unite’s virtual phonebanks.
Kevin Maguire commented in the Daily Mirror:
“The Unite union proved its value to Labour, picking up the tab and deploying a phone bank capable of giving Lord Ashcroft of Belize a run for his zillions in marginal constituencies.”
Registering on Unite4Labour to get into the phone bank is easy. Go to the home page, click on register, enter your email address and Unite membership number together with the password of your choice and you’re in. If you’re not, let us know and we’ll make sure you are!
If you require further information or assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the union’s phone bank co-ordinator Andrew Brady at [email protected] or on 07810 157922.
