* The Tories are attempting to limit the damage of Chris Grayling’s recorded view that B&Bs should be able to turn away gay couples.

* Ed Balls said yesterday that George Osborne would have to put up VAT within weeks of the election.

* Lord Adonis and Lord Drayson may take on extra responsibility after Parliament is dissolved, the Guardian reports.

* Harriet Harman has reportedly complained that Labour’s election campaign is too dominated by men.
