This Friday, we’re expecting to see new figures on further growth in the British economy.

But in a few short weeks’ time, the Tories – if elected – could hold an “emergency budget” in which they strip £6 billion from the economy.

To highlight the real danger that Tory economic plans could lead to a double dip recession, Labour have created a devastating mock-up news website, which features radio reports imagining how economists and the public might react to such cuts in just a month’s time.

Listen to the news clip below:

There’s also a slideshow based on what we already know about the Tories’ plans, and detailing how those plans would put the economic recovery at risk:

And there are details on how the Tories’ plans would damage frontline services including education and policing.

This is a clever attack on the Tories, and shows Labour returning to the front foot on the economic arguments that will still define the election. Visit the Daily News website here and add the widgets to your own site.
