Yesterday Andy Burnham retained his position at the top of the Shadow Cabinet rankings – a position he’s now held for nearly a year. Today he’s confirmed as your MP of the month, doing the double in the State of the Party survey, and not for the first time.
Andy’s work on the NHS has often meant that he’s remained popular, even when Westminster is quiet. When it comes to Labour members and supporters he seemed to have almost unrivalled cut through.
Other strong performers this month were Tom Watson (with a special mention for his Durham Miner’s Gala speech), Stella Creasy (who has continued her campaign on “legal loan sharking” and opened up the debate on “zero budgetting”) and Dame Tessa Jowell (for her pivotal role in bringing the Olympics to London).
Thanks to everyone who voted.
