I’ve written before about the Sun’s remarkable anti-Labour spin when it comes to polls, but in recent days they’ve been at it again.
Yesterday’s YouGov poll had Labour at an unusually low 3 point lead over the Tories, leading many to argue that Labour’s lead is narrowing. That may well be the case, but it doesn’t explain The Sun’s one eyed approach to their own polls.
Here’s how they crowed about yesterday’s poll on Twitter:
You can always tell when The Sun’s YouGov poll is bad for Labour – they tweet it the night before. So when they didn’t tweet their own YouGov poll result last night, I got suspicious. I was right to be. Labour’s lead is back up at 7 points with YouGov today. The Sun haven’t commented on that. How odd.
But then again, this is a newspaper that is happy to run with another newspaper’s polling ahead of their own – as long as it serves their narrative, that is…
