Stella Creasy has today launched a new video in her campaign to be Labour deputy leader. In the three-minute film, launched this morning, she tells members “I don’t just want your vote in this election; I want your voice”.
Creasy, whose campaign received a boost by the support of Neil Kinnock yesterday, says:
“I want your voice for the Labour movement, to become a movement again. To bring back the fire and the faith that Labour can and does make a difference.”
The video features endorsements from a Labour members, a community organiser, a campaigner against FGM and MP Dan Jarvis. Creasy explains how she became involved in politics as a teenager, and she takes her influence as a campaigner from the trade union movement.
“I take my lessons from the trade unions, who say ‘Don’t mourn, organise’. Over the next five years, I want us to organise, so that we can put David Cameron and George Osborne on notice.
Because I share your passion for social justice, and I’m confident that when we stand for what we believe in, and we fight together, we can and we will win.”
