Poll List: New ICM poll shows Labour 9% behind Tories

By Alex Smith / @alexsmith1982

A new ICM poll for today’s Guardian shows Labour and the Tories both down two points, with the Tory lead at 9% over Labour.

The Tories are down two points to 38%, Labour are down two points to 29%, while the Lib Dems have gained 3% and rise to 23%, compared an equivalent poll for the Guardian on March 15th.

Translated to a general election on a uniform swing, the ICM numbers would still result in a hung parliament, according to the UK Polling Report Swing Calculator, which shows the Tories 20 seats short of a working majority on 306 seats, and Labour on 255.

Tonight’s YouGov tracking poll shows the Tories up one point to 39%, Labour down one point to 31% and the Lib Dems unchanged on 19%.
