From LabourList
LabourList has just received an email from a Tory PPC to their members, which says the following:
“We have made great strides since the London/Crewe/Henley elections and I’m hopeful we will soon be able to offer you the option of being an ‘Armchair Activist’. We wouldn’t want you to stop delivering leaflets and knocking on doors, but we should have the software sorted soon to allow you to make calls from home, using the internet rather than using clunky Word or pdf file attachments. More news, soon, I hope!”
Meanwhile, Labour’s Virtual Phonebank has been up and running for nearly 2 months and 10,000 calls to target voters have already been made.
Check out this video of some comrades phone banking together…
Last week we also saw the Tories’ pitiful attempt to copy the Democrats in the US – widely derided in the press, including by Sam Coates in the Times.
It was a blatant but poorly executed attempt to copy Labour’s viral campaigns such as this mock Shadow WebCabinet.
There’s been quite a bit of disquiet at Conservative Home recently about the Tories’ failing internet strategy and CCHQ appears to be listening and responding – by copying Labour’s approach.
Imitation always was the sincerest form of flattery…
