David v Goliath: Our fightback against the Ashcroft millions

Goliath

By Alex Smith / @alexsmith1982

At the beginning of March Progress launched the David v Goliath campaign. It’s been a big success, raising thousands of pounds for some of Labour’s great candidates fighting hard in constituencies targeted by Lord Ashcroft money.

Today, the campaign is relaunching, with LabourList and Compass also now on board – and with a special twist.

The candidate who receives the most donations before April 30th – of whatever amount, from £1 to £1,000 – will also receive £1,000 of additional help from a kind friend of our campaign, who wants to help Labour candidates beat off the Tories in marginal seats.

Compass Progress

So along with Compass and Progress, LabourList are asking you to help out by donating to your chosen candidate in the top Tory target seats – the seats which will determine the outcome of the general election.

A donation of £5 pays for leaflets for two streets, and £50 pays for leaflets for 20 streets. This can make the crucial difference in getting our message out to voters.

So please read each candidate’s story, and donate via the link at the end of the new David v Goliath page here.

You can also stay in touch with the campaign on Facebook and Twitter – and please share it with friends.

If you’re a candidate or work for a candidate in one of the top 100 Tory target seats, and would like to be included in his competition, please contact us immediately on 020 3008 8180 or at [email protected].
