Three new polls tonight all point to a hung parliament with the Tories as the biggest party in the House of Commons after Thursday’s election.
An ICM poll for the Sunday Telegraph shows the Tories up three points since Tuesday to 36%, with Labour in second up one point to 29% and the Lib Dems down three points in third on 27%. Translated on a uniform swing to the election, those numbers would deliver a hung parliament, with the Tories 51 seats short of a working majority on 275 seats, Labour on 264 and the Lib Dems on 78.
ComRes, for the Independent on Sunday, shows the Tories up two points to 38%, Labour down 1% to 28% and the Lib Dems also down 1 point to 25%. Those numbers would also deliver a hung parliament, with the Tories the biggest party but 5 seats short of a working majority on 321 seats, Labour on 234 and the Lib Dems on 64.
YouGov’s daily tracker shows the Tories up one point since yesterday on 35%, the Lib Dems unchanged on 28% and Labour down one point and in third to 27%. Translated to the election, that would deliver a hung parliament, with the Tories the largest party on 301 seats, 21 seats short of a working majority, Labour on 235 seats and the Lib Dems on 82.
