Labour’s odds of holding Oldham East and Saddleworth have been slashed tonight, following positive polling for the party. The party started the contest at 1/4, but after a recent flurry of bets the odds are now out to 1/9. The Lib Dems are now considered an outside chance at 5/1 while the Tories are real long shots at 33/1. Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said:
“Political punters are backing Labour for victory and the polls indicate we will be paying out. Despite their unpopularity recently it looks like the Lib Dems will be the coalition member in second.”
