Leaked email shows Tory HQ co-ordinates MP tweets

A few weeks ago we noted the remarkable similarity of a number of tweets from Tory MPs about the Eastleigh by-election. The Guardian followed up by calling them lemmings. As we said at the time:

“At least now we know who CCHQ call if they want someone to cut and paste a text message into a tweet…”

Now an email leaked to Guido says that:

“At CCHQ we run an internal email list to notify people when tweets have gone out from @david_cameron or if anything high priority has gone out from @conservatives, so that they are aware of our comms and can retweet to share with their followers if they wish.”

The cut and paste list is revealed – keep an eye out for any particularly “on message” tweets from Tory MPs in future…
