Emergency PLP meeting to be held tomorrow to discuss party’s Syria position

Parliament is back for an emergency session tomorrow to discuss Britain’s potential role in military action against Syria. Ed Miliband has said that he may support action – within certain boundaries – but the Parliamentary Labour Party will be meeting at 12.30 tomorrow to debate the party’s response ahead of the vote in the commons.

Michael Meacher MP made an appeal to the Chair of the PLP Dave Watts for a debate:

“in order that the range and depth of feeling in the PLP can be registered before any final decisions are taken both as to the nature of our response and the basis on which the party might vote”
