At PMQs today, Labour MP Stephen Doughty asked David Cameron about a newspaper profile in which the PM appeared to have headed home in the middle of the day to “turn the heating on so it’s a bit nicer when I get back this afternoon”. Not very green, and not something most have the luxury to do when so many are choosing between heating and eating.
We’ve managed to dig out the relevant paragraph from the December 2006 interview – here it is:
To be fair to Cameron it is cold in the winter, and it is nice to have the heating on. It’s just a shame that whilst so many struggle to afford heating, he’s doing so little to get bills down…
