Labour suspends former Co-op Bank boss over Meth, Crack and Ketamine revelations

Paul Flowers, the former head of the Co-op Bank and Methodist Minister, who was yesterday revealed by the Mail on Sunday to have been caught buying Crystal Meth, Crack Cocaine and Ketamine, has been suspended from the Labour Party. A party spokesman said this afternoon that:

“In the light of recent reports, we have today suspended Paul Flowers as a member of the Labour party for bringing the party into disrepute.”

Flowers was a Labour Councillor in Bradford for ten years, and in in 2010 was appointed by Ed Miliband to the party’s finance and industry board. Speaking today Miliband said:

“You appoint people from a whole range of backgrounds to look at a whole range of issues and we have a range of business people working with us.

“The police are looking into the matter and I’m not going to comment on an ongoing investigation. Suffice to say that group no longer exists. We should let the police inquiry take its course.”
