Cameron and Clegg yesterday announced that they’d “cut” energy bills by £50 – largely because the taxpayer will now be paying some of what energy bill payers are currently paying. Or as Miliband consiglieri Stewart Wood put it yesterday:
“Cameron’s plan is for taxpayers to pay some of the costs of energy bill-payers. I will thank myself for my generosity towards me later on.”
Today they’ve upped the ante – pointing out that Cameron’s offer is in fact a £70 price hike this year. How generous. Here’s the poster:
