George Osborne has appeared on Sky News to be quizzed on his job by children – but appeared stumped when one of them asked him a simple multiplication sum.
When a small child asked “What is 7 x 8?”, Osborne faltered.
“I’m not going to get into a whole string of, er… I’ve made it a rule in life not to answer a whole load of maths questions,” said the Chancellor of the Exchequer, who presumably doesn’t have to do that sort of thing in his line of work.
This certainly inspires confidence. And for the record, we think it’s 56.
