Axelrod says claims he’s not committed to Labour campaign are “complete nonsense”

In recent days there have been claims from some quarters that David Axelrod had given up on Labour’s election campaign, as he’d said he was “done” with campaigning.

Yet Buzzfeed are reporting this morning that Axelrod called these claims “complete nonsense”, responding:

“I was there two weeks ago…my partners on the project, [Larry] Grisolano and [Mike] Donilon, were on a call with them in the past couple of days.”

It was reported in the Observer last weekend that Axelrod had been in the UK helping Miliband with debate preparation the previous weekend, but if occasional visits and calls from his partners are all that he has to point to – with 84 days remaining – then we probably shouldn’t expect the much lauded Axelrod appointment to win the election for Miliband…
