Why do The Sun need to pay people to praise the Tories?

The Sun have made no secret of their support for the Tory party in this election (except of course when they are supporting the SNP in Scotland). Given this, it seems fair to assume that this would be an accurate reflection of the passions of their readership.

But if the Tories are so great – as the Sun claim – why would they need to pay people to share their stories? Don’t they trust their readers passions to match their own?

I have to ask  – why do the Sun feel the need to pay their readers to get enthusiastic about the Party they have been championing so vocally?
