Sadiq Khan has picked up an endorsement from Labour campaigner for equality, Amy Lamé, in his bid to be Labour’s candidate for London Mayor.
Lamé is a writer, TV and radio presenter, who is also known for her LGBT work. She was Mayoress of London Borough of Camden with Mayor Jonathan Simpson from 2010-2011.
Lamé declared her support for Khan in a video, which you can see below. She said Labour need a candidate who is “fresh and full of energy who really captures the youthful, vibrant spirit of London”- She says Khan is the “only person” to do this.
This comes following Labour peer Michael Cashman’s endorsement earlier this week. Khan also has the support of Margaret Hodge, Oona King, Ken Livingstone and 14 London Labour MPs.
