Ken Loach, the multi-award winning filmmaker, has made a film in support of Jeremy Corbyn’s campaign to be Labour leader.
The film, which is 8 minutes long, shows Corbyn talking to supporters. In a poignant video, the Labour leader hears some of his supporters problems. In it Corbyn also says neoliberal economics doesn’t solve inequality in society.
One nineteen year old student talks about the struggle of being at university with little financial support. He also talks about the BAME (Black and Minority Ethnic) attainment gap.
“When I was in sixth form, I was so passionate to go to uni. I’ve finished my first year of uni now and I’m thinking is there something else I could do, because I don’t think I could continue with university because literally when I finish university it’s so hard for me to even think of getting a job because when I come out of uni the stuff I need to pay for, it’s just crazy”, he says.
This is an edited version of the video. You can find the full, hour long, video here. The leadership will result will be announced on Saturday morning in Liverpool.
