Theresa May now has no authority and no mandate, Jeremy Corbyn said today, as he published a video thanking everyone who voted for Labour. He said there was no public wish for a “race to the bottom Brexit”. Corbyn’s position appeared far more secure today, even though Labour lost a third consecutive election, because of the party’s increase in both votes and the number of seats. “Labour has made gains in every nation and region of Britain”, he added.
