Together we can shape the future – the Co-Op party mark their centenary

The Co-Operative party are celebrating their centenary this year, and have released a video to mark their successes in 100 years of parliamentary politics.

The film has contributions from Labour Co-Operative MPs Tracy Brabin and Gareth Thomas and profiles key co-op figures from the past, including Margaret Bondfield – the former shop worker who became the first female cabinet minister in 1928.

Brabin, MP for Batley and Spen, was promoted to a frontbench role yesterday as Labour’s shadow minister for early years.

The Co-Op are holding their annual conference 13-15th October in London, and you can get tickets for the conference here.
