  • Bye Mitchell.

    Next…

  • Gutless Cameron should  sack Mitchell. If a police officer  had insulted a cabinet minister they would have lost their job.

  • I am afraid that this is just pure arrogance as far as I can see. Pride cometh etc etc.
Luckily nobody in the Labour Party is arrogant and nobody has let power go their head.

New members back deselection for MPs who rebel against Corbyn, new study shows

A majority of new Labour members want to have a bigger say over party policy and believe MPs who criticise Jeremy Corbyn should face deselection, new research reveals. The study showed more than half of new members – those joined during and after the last leadership election – believe the grassroots should have more influence on party policy while a similar number backed the deselection of of MPs who “persistently and publicly” criticise Corbyn. Luke Akehurst: We must recruit hundreds of thousands of mainstream members to defeat the far left

It has been a terrible few weeks for centre-left politics in the UK, with the horrific murder of Jo Cox MP, the loss of the referendum and now the undignified spectacle of Jeremy Corbyn clinging onto the leadership despite pressure from across the whole of the mainstream of the Labour Party for him to accept his part in the culpability for the defeat and step down. It is absolutely vital that Labour changes leader and the party is able to […]

Abbott: Corbyn will lose confidence motion but triumph among membership

Jeremy Corbyn will lose today’s confidence motion among MPs but is likely to go on to win a leadership election among members, Diane Abbott said today. The shadow Health Secretary, who was promoted yesterday, said she expected the leader to lose today’s poll “because it’s a secret ballot and there’s been no notice”. As voting gets underway among MPs, Abbott struck a defiant tone, accusing the rebels of staging a “three ring circus”. “MPs don’t choose the leader of the […]
