Cameron’s impersonation of a German guard is a national embarrassment

By Emma Reynolds

People say that Cameron is a good PR man. Well his thin veneer of respectability slipped last night when he put on a German accent to ask “Where are your papers” when expressing his opposition to ID cards.

The real Cameron suddenly shone through. It would be a national embarrassment if he were elected as our Prime Minister. If you haven’t watched the YouTube video yet then you should and no doubt you will cringe with shame as I did.

Cameron is also in the process of allying the Tories in the European Parliament with a rag-bag of homophobic parties on the continent.

Germany’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel and France’s President, Nicolas Sarkozy, are already said to be upset about Cameron moving the Tories out of the centre-right European People’s Party and his poor choice of new friends. Just wait until they see Cameron’s latest gaffe.
