Ed Balls finally launched his campaign website today in his email to the 80,000-strong Labour Party email list. Every candidate is entitled to send one email to the party’s list. David Miliband sent his first, last Wednesday, followed by Ed Miliband on Thursday and Andy Burnham last Friday.
Balls writes in his “urgent campaign message”:
“I am writing to you today – not just because I want your support to be the next Leader of our party, but because I need your urgent help in campaigning against the unfair attack on jobs and services that this Tory-Liberal government is planning for next week’s Budget.
Ed Balls 3 So please visit my website at www.edballs4labour.org and join my campaign for fairness:
– to Stop the VAT Bombshell – George Osborne’s Budget plan to bring in an unfair rise in VAT which will hit the poorest hardest;
– and to stop the Tory-Liberal government taking free school meals away from half a million children across our country – as they cut jobs and our vital frontline public services.”
Balls’s new website can be found at EdBalls4Labour.Org. It features the following introductory campaign video on Balls’ new campaign, Stop the VAT Bombshell:
