Ed Miliband’s Remembrance Day statement

Poppy“On Remembrance Day, Britain falls silent to remember those who have lost their lives in the service of this country.

As we honour their sacrifice, and the memory of the fallen, we think of those who still give so much for our liberty and protection today.

We think of those who are injured in the service of our country.

We think of the families of all those who have lost loved ones to conflict, and those who have relatives and friends serving our country in difficult circumstances far from home today. We share their heartfelt hope that their loved ones return safely.

The men and women who serve in our Armed Forces are the best of Britain. The whole country is proud of their remarkable dedication to our values and our security, and we are so grateful for their service.

This and each Remembrance Day, we pay tribute to our bravest, and we reaffirm that they will never be forgotten.”
