UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom was ejected from the EU Parliament chamber today after shouting the Nazi slogan “Ein volk, ein reich, ein fuhrer” at German Social Democrat MEP Martin Schulz. Bloom then went on to describe Schulz as an “undemocratic fascist”, before leaving the chamber. Outside, he called Shultz “a national socialist” while speaking to the BBC.
Commenting on the news, Glenis Willmott MEP, Labour’s leader in the European Parliament, said:
“Once again UKIP is trying to brew up a storm to make headlines back home. Godfrey Bloom’s actions are an insult to all those who have fought against fascism.”
