Labour policies make up the majority of the most successful policies of the past thirty years, a report by the Institute of Government suggests, with implementation of the minimum wage rated the most successful policy since 1980.
159 members of the Political Studies Association were polled as part of the research, and each policy was rated on social and economic impact, successful implementation duration of impact and national interest among other factors. Policies implemented by Labour made up most of the top five policies, with devolution and Sure Start also highly rated. The top five was as follows:
1. Minimum wage
2. Devolution
3. NI Peace process
4. Privatisation
5. Sure Start
