LabourList at conference

LabourListThis year at conference we’ve organised two fringe events for you that touch upon what will be two of the biggest themes up in Liverpool – Party Reform and Blue Labour. We hope that you’ll be able to join us to hear some of the fantastic speakers that we have for you – and to celebrate another excellent year for the site.

Refounding Labour? Where next for party reform?(in association with the Fabian Society)

Sunday, 8pm – Liverpool Town Hall, West Reception Room

* Drinks provided, but make sure you’re there early before we run out…*

Just hours after the party votes on the new direction of the party after a summer of internal debate, we’ve pulled together some of those involved in the process to talk about where the party needs to go from here – and what we still need to do.

Speakers: Peter Hain MP, Luke Akehurst (NEC), Johanna Baxter (NEC), Alex Smith (former LabourList editor, Ed Miliband aide and consultant to Champollion Digital) – Chair: Emma Burnell

Should Blue Labour take over from New Labour? (hosted with Liberal Conspiracy, in association with the Fabian Society)

Monday, 1pm – 2:30pm, – Liverpool Town Hall, West Reception Room

Does Blue Labour have anything to offer the Labour Party? The grouping looked like it might be about to fracture earlier this year, but as journalist Rowenna Davis – who will be speaking at our event – releases a book on Blue Labour, could this be the Blue Labour conference?

Speakers: Marc Stears (Blue Labour academic), Rowenna Davis (Author and journalist), Clare Moody (Unite the union) and Anthony Painter (Author and critic) – Chairs: Mark Ferguson and Sunny Hundal (Liberal Conspiracy)

Sponsored by Unite the union:
