Another day, another busy fringe at Labour conference. Here’s the fringe events that we’ll be keeping an eye on today:
Want to see the General Secretaries of the four biggest affiliated unions all speaking at the same fringe event? The trade unions have been out in force at conference this year, and Unite have got most of the big hitters in the same room this afternoon. The theme? “The Economic Alternative” – 12.30-2pm, Jury’s Inn
If you’re not in the secure zone though (or even if you are) we’re very proud of a fringe event that we’re organising (along with our friends from Liberal Conspiracy) at 1pm in Liverpool Town Hall. Blue Labour divides the party – so we’ve got some of the most interesting advocates and critics of the new movement to argue it out this afternoon. “Should Blue Labour take over from New Labour?” – 1pm, Liverpool Town Hall – FREE LUNCH
Earlier this month, LabourList was voted the third best blog in the country by Total Politics magazine, so it would be remiss of us not to mention that our Editor is speaking at their fringe event this evening alongside Hazel Blears. The theme? “The future of local government, the big society and cuts.” – 6pm, Liverpool Marine Bar
