In a couple of hours Ed Miliband will stand up in the BT Convention Centre and give his second speech as Labour leader – but ahead of the speech, how do Labour voters feel about Miliband?
The verdict, unfortunately for Miliband, is average to poor.
31% of LabourList readers think Ed has done an Excellent or Good job, down from 38% in August. The percentage who think he has performed poorly or very poorly is up to 38% from 34% in August (and only 20% in July at the height of the phone hacking scandal).
The option that was most popular though was “Average” (31%). That suggests that Ed has some work to do today to convince Labour supporters, as well as the wider country.
We’ll be surveying you again post-conference to see if Ed’s speech has had the desired effect…
Results:
How do you think Ed Miliband is performing as leader so far?
Excellent – 7%
Good – 24%
Average – 31%
Poor – 21%
Very Poor – 17%
The LabourList state of the party survey was conducted from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th September. 405 LabourList readers took part.
